2. Short version

You can use the quizzes without an account and without cookies. We do not ask you to register and we do not build user profiles. Your progress stays in your own browser.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit the site, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure operation). We have a data processing agreement with the provider. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

4. Local storage in your browser

To save your game progress, level, daily streak and settings, we store data in your browser's local storage (localStorage). This data does not leave your device and contains no personal information. Storing it is necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

5. Anonymous result statistics

After a quiz, your result can be sent to us anonymously so that we can show you how you did compared with other players. Only the quiz page, your score in percent and, optionally, your difficulty rating are transmitted. We store only counters per page: no IP address, no user ID and no cookies. We cannot trace a result back to you.

On the Would You Rather page, your choice (A or B) for a question is sent to us when you vote, so that we can show how other visitors voted. We store only two counters per question: no IP address, no user ID and no cookies. To avoid counting the same vote twice, your own earlier picks are remembered in your browser's local storage only.

6. Fonts, images and flags

We serve fonts, images, flags and illustrations from our own server. No data is sent to third parties such as Google Fonts for this.

7. Contacting us

If you email us, we process your details (email address and the content of your message) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or point (b) if the request concerns a contract. We delete the data once your request is dealt with and no retention duties apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Just write to the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Access to Information of Brandenburg (Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg), Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
